the new São Paulo stadium gets the FIFA go-ahead

The new stadium for Corinthians, currently on its initial building stage, has just been given the FIFA go-ahead. This means the city of São Paulo is being confirmed as a world cup host.
We will have to wait till October for the announcement of the city that will host the competition’s opening game. Among the candidates, São Paulo itself along with Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Belo Horizonte and Brasilia.
